UKCP Psychotherapist | Integrative & Transpersonal Therapy supporting emotional
healing, relational awareness, and deeper inner exploration.

Relationships Difficulties Life transitions Trauma Health Issues Anxiety Neurodiversity
Abuse Anxiety Depression b
I offer a supportive, grounded, and reflective space for those seeking help with life’s
challenges, as well as a deeper understanding of themselves.
You may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply aware that something needs
attention—even if you’re not yet sure what that is.
My approach is both intuitive and informed. Alongside a compassionate presence, I work
actively and may offer thoughtful challenge or bring attention to what feels just beneath
the surface, in service of deeper awareness and growth.
My work is integrative and transpersonal, attending to both emotional wellbeing and the
deeper layers of meaning, purpose, and inner experience. Many of the people I work with
are seeking not only relief from current difficulties, but a deeper exploration of
themselves and their patterns.
I draw on relational, somatic, and creative approaches—including dreams, meditation,
and mindful awareness—to help you explore patterns, process experience, and reconnect
with your inner resources, from which qualities such as resilience, courage, and clarity
can emerge.
Alongside this, I integrate insights from neuroscience to support an understanding of how
experiences are held in the brain and body, particularly in relation to stress, trauma, and
regulation, and how meaningful, lasting change can emerge over time.
I have extensive experience working with complex emotional and relational dynamics,
and bring a depth-oriented, relational approach to my work.

Hi, my name is Jane and I am an integrative therapist who specializes in trauma and abuse. I also have a particular interest in relational work and attachment theory (how a disrupted bond with our main caregiver can impact our ability to feel safe within relationships).
You might feel stuck or alone in your situation, perhaps caught up in repetitive ways of thinking, struggling to come to any solution. Our emotions are clues to what is really going on for us. I will help you to go beneath the surface of the problem and understand what is driving thoughts, feelings or behaviours.
A safe space helps us to explore ourselves at a deeper level. My training and life experience informs a broad-minded, non-judgemental acceptance of whatever you choose to bring to therapy.
I frequently work with panic, anxiety, and depression. This might be trauma with a ‘little t’, meaning emotional distress due to the cumulative impact of multiple events such as bullying, verbal abuse, emotional neglect, or criticism. I also work with sexual abuse or major trauma, including PTSD.

I am a qualified Psychosexual and Relationship Therapist. I completed my training at CICS – Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology. This contemporary and pluralistic training equipped me with a diverse therapeutic toolkit, including interventions from a wide range of modalities such as CBT, Humanistic, Gestalt, etc. This breadth allows me to collaborate with clients in creating a tailored therapeutic plan that respects their unique needs, histories and hopes for change.
Central to my practice is the creation of a safe, non judgmental, and inclusive environment where clients can explore personal topics at their own pace.
My approach is person centred, trauma informed, and grounded in science, with a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
I draw from a holistic biopsychosocial lens to help clients understand themselves and their relationships with greater clarity. I balance compassion with gentle challenge, supporting clients to develop emotional resilience, self acceptance and further ways of relating.
My background in Biomedical Engineering and IT programming, shaped my appreciation for systems, complexity and the interplay between mind and body. My journey from engineering to therapy reflects a shift from binary, solution focused thinking to an approach that embraces nuance, curiosity, and genuine human connection. One of my natural skills is to listen beyond words.
At the heart of my work is a simple intention: to support clients on their journey to having healthier and fulfilled sex lives and relationships with others and themselves.
My practice supports clients with a wide range of concerns related to: erections, low desire, pain, orgasms, sexuality or gender identity, kinks and fetishes, compulsive sexual behaviour, sexual health, fertility, childhood sexual abuse, intimate partner violence or sexual violence.
I am a registered member of the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists – COSRT and I abide by their Code of Ethics and Practice.
I offer individual and relationship therapy in both English EN) and Portuguese (PT), available online or in person in the Brighton and Hove area.

With over thirty years of experience working with people from all walks of life, I understand how complex and varied our journeys can be. I’m passionate about creating a space where you can feel truly seen, heard, and supported — wherever you are in your story.
As a trauma-informed and EMDR-trained therapist, I work with individuals and couples around a wide range of issues, with particular specialisms in psychosexual therapy, relationships, and trauma recovery. I also provide supervision for fellow therapists and practitioners, offering a collaborative and reflective space to grow in confidence and insight.
My approach is warm, empathic, and non-judgemental. I believe therapy should feel like a safe haven — a place where you can explore what’s troubling you, make sense of your experiences, and begin to move forward with greater clarity and self-compassion.
At New Horizons Network, my aim is to help you find hope and possibility, even in the most difficult times — supporting you to create new ways of living, relating, and being.

I hold a Degree in Integrative Counselling, an approach informed by a range of theoretical perspectives including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic, and Person-Centred models. This allows me to tailor my approach to each individual, recognising that every person’s experience and journey are unique.

In addition, I hold a Diploma in Gestalt Counselling, which integrates a variety of creative techniques to help clients explore, process, and make sense of their thoughts and emotions.

I believe that the therapeutic relationship between client and counsellor is central to the healing process. Building a safe, trusting, and compassionate connection enables you to explore challenges and work towards meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.

My Approach I often incorporate creative interventions within my sessions, using symbols and metaphor to support emotional expression. For clients who may find it difficult to put their feelings into words, these creative tools can provide an alternative and powerful means of communication and understanding.

Experience My professional experience spans a range of therapeutic and wellbeing settings. I have worked within the NHS and currently work in hospice care, supporting clients in managing their emotional wellbeing through both counselling and complementary therapies.

I have designed and facilitated wellbeing workshops to help individuals manage stress, anxiety, and depression—giving me extensive experience supporting those who are distressed, facing life-limiting illness, or coping with bereavement.

In my private counselling practice, I have supported clients dealing with:

• Childhood trauma

• Depression and anxiety

• Relationship difficulties

• Bereavement and loss

• Trauma and emotional distress

I also have experience working with neurodivergent clients, including those with Autism and ADHD, providing a sensitive and understanding environment tailored to individual needs.

Appointments I offer counselling sessions both online and face-to-face. My practice is based in Highcliffe, where I provide a comfortable, confidential, and welcoming space.

Each appointment lasts 50 minutes, and we can meet weekly or fortnightly, depending on what best suits your needs.

Reaching out for counselling can feel daunting, and finding a counsellor you feel comfortable with is an important part of the process. To help you decide if I’m the right fit for you, I offer a free 10-minute, no-obligation telephone consultation.

Hello. My name is Debbie. I am one of the Directors at New Horizons Network Ltd.
Bringing more than a decade of experience in therapeutic work, I am passionate about helping others create a future that is more in line with their true authentic selves and their dreams. For many of us, our life experiences through childhood and beyond can halt or hinder us from flourishing in our lives. My work is rooted in helping individuals unlock their potential by identifying and overcoming internal and external beliefs, fears and other potential obstacles stopping them from moving forward. I believe deeply in our capacity to change how we think, feel, and interact with the world, and I’m committed to guiding others toward positive, lasting change.
My journey into mental health was shaped by personal experiences of poor mental health, both in my own life and among my family and friends. This led me on a path of self-discovery and professional growth, which fuels my dedication to helping others break free from negative patterns and achieve the lives they desire.
I have a particular interest in working with individuals who have been affected by emotionally immature or narcissistic parents, or who have been in relationships that have undermined their sense of self-worth and confidence. Life transitions such as leaving home, marriage, parenthood, menopause, and aging can also profoundly impact our identity and well-being, and I’m passionate about supporting clients through these changes.
In addition to mental health, I’m deeply invested in health and wellbeing, recognizing that cultivating healthy habits is a lifelong journey. I understand the challenges of breaking free from negative behaviours and thoughts, often used as coping mechanisms in an incongruent life. My goal is to help clients explore healthier ways to live, aligned with their true desires.
I offer and have experience in Counselling, Psychotherapy, Coaching, and Supervision. My experience spans both private practice and the NHS Talking Therapies service (formerly known as Improving Access to Psychological Therapies – IAPT). I take an integrative approach to therapy, with a particular focus on Person-Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression (PCE-CfD). I offer a safe space which is empathic, understanding, non-judgemental, and collaborative.
As an Accredited Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I adhere to the highest ethical standards in my practice. I have contributed to the development of several counselling services, always striving to make therapy and coaching more accessible. Additionally, I offer clinical supervision to counsellors, coaches, and trainees, and have facilitated online groups.
