UKCP Psychotherapist | Integrative & Transpersonal Therapy supporting emotional
healing, relational awareness, and deeper inner exploration.

Relationships Difficulties Life transitions Trauma Health Issues Anxiety Neurodiversity
Abuse Anxiety Depression b
I offer a supportive, grounded, and reflective space for those seeking help with life’s
challenges, as well as a deeper understanding of themselves.
You may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply aware that something needs
attention—even if you’re not yet sure what that is.
My approach is both intuitive and informed. Alongside a compassionate presence, I work
actively and may offer thoughtful challenge or bring attention to what feels just beneath
the surface, in service of deeper awareness and growth.
My work is integrative and transpersonal, attending to both emotional wellbeing and the
deeper layers of meaning, purpose, and inner experience. Many of the people I work with
are seeking not only relief from current difficulties, but a deeper exploration of
themselves and their patterns.
I draw on relational, somatic, and creative approaches—including dreams, meditation,
and mindful awareness—to help you explore patterns, process experience, and reconnect
with your inner resources, from which qualities such as resilience, courage, and clarity
can emerge.
Alongside this, I integrate insights from neuroscience to support an understanding of how
experiences are held in the brain and body, particularly in relation to stress, trauma, and
regulation, and how meaningful, lasting change can emerge over time.
I have extensive experience working with complex emotional and relational dynamics,
and bring a depth-oriented, relational approach to my work.

I provide personalised counselling for adults (18+) in a confidential and supportive environment. Counselling is not a one-size-fits-all process, each person’s journey is unique, and sessions can take different forms depending on your needs and what feels most helpful at the time. Some people benefit from traditional talking therapy, others from structured approaches, and some enjoy creative ways of exploring thoughts and feelings. My aim is to work in a way that fits your pace, your comfort, and your individual journey. Sessions are offered online, by telephone, and face-to-face, providing flexibility to suit different lifestyles and circumstances. My practice is built on respect, collaboration, and recognising the individuality of every client. The counselling space is warm, safe, and non-judgemental, where experiences are listened to, feelings are valued, and personal insights are encouraged.

Hi, my name is Jane and I am an integrative therapist who specializes in trauma and abuse. I also have a particular interest in relational work and attachment theory (how a disrupted bond with our main caregiver can impact our ability to feel safe within relationships).
You might feel stuck or alone in your situation, perhaps caught up in repetitive ways of thinking, struggling to come to any solution. Our emotions are clues to what is really going on for us. I will help you to go beneath the surface of the problem and understand what is driving thoughts, feelings or behaviours.
A safe space helps us to explore ourselves at a deeper level. My training and life experience informs a broad-minded, non-judgemental acceptance of whatever you choose to bring to therapy.
I frequently work with panic, anxiety, and depression. This might be trauma with a ‘little t’, meaning emotional distress due to the cumulative impact of multiple events such as bullying, verbal abuse, emotional neglect, or criticism. I also work with sexual abuse or major trauma, including PTSD.

I am a qualified Psychosexual and Relationship Therapist. I completed my training at CICS – Contemporary Institute of Clinical Sexology. This contemporary and pluralistic training equipped me with a diverse therapeutic toolkit, including interventions from a wide range of modalities such as CBT, Humanistic, Gestalt, etc. This breadth allows me to collaborate with clients in creating a tailored therapeutic plan that respects their unique needs, histories and hopes for change.
Central to my practice is the creation of a safe, non judgmental, and inclusive environment where clients can explore personal topics at their own pace.
My approach is person centred, trauma informed, and grounded in science, with a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
I draw from a holistic biopsychosocial lens to help clients understand themselves and their relationships with greater clarity. I balance compassion with gentle challenge, supporting clients to develop emotional resilience, self acceptance and further ways of relating.
My background in Biomedical Engineering and IT programming, shaped my appreciation for systems, complexity and the interplay between mind and body. My journey from engineering to therapy reflects a shift from binary, solution focused thinking to an approach that embraces nuance, curiosity, and genuine human connection. One of my natural skills is to listen beyond words.
At the heart of my work is a simple intention: to support clients on their journey to having healthier and fulfilled sex lives and relationships with others and themselves.
My practice supports clients with a wide range of concerns related to: erections, low desire, pain, orgasms, sexuality or gender identity, kinks and fetishes, compulsive sexual behaviour, sexual health, fertility, childhood sexual abuse, intimate partner violence or sexual violence.
I am a registered member of the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists – COSRT and I abide by their Code of Ethics and Practice.
I offer individual and relationship therapy in both English EN) and Portuguese (PT), available online or in person in the Brighton and Hove area.

As a qualified counsellor with a warm, friendly and open manner, I bring a wealth of experience to my work, both with individuals and families from a variety of different backgrounds.
My own life experience combined with extensive training and professional qualifications allows me to connect with people throughout different life stages in a warm, genuine way.
Whether you find it hard to build secure personal relationships, need help in understanding the full impact of childhood trauma in adult life or have unresolved family issues that make harmonious relationships difficult to maintain or maybe you are struggling with a loss or bereavement; I can provide a safe, confidential space in which we can work together to explore, make sense of and understand your thoughts and feelings.
My experience and background includes the following:
Working with Individuals and young people who have suffered trauma.
Families working through challenging times such as divorce, bereavement, attachment issues, abuse, fostering and adoption.
Time spent working with individuals and families in a hospice coping with loss, bereavement and end of life care.
People affected by sexual, physical or emotional abuse.
With over 25 years combined experience as a social worker working with families, 12 of which specialised in the foster care sector, I’ve seen first-hand how the attachment styles of parents and carers can shape how we view life and most importantly, how we view ourselves.
Through my work as a councillor helping others to deal with loss, childhood and adult trauma, miscarriage, bereavement and life-limiting illnesses, I feel privileged to have helped my clients promote a better understanding of how these issues affect us and how to move forward in ways that feel authentic to them.
I am a Humanistic Integrative counsellor, meaning that I use different counselling approaches as required depending on what feels right for you to explore the areas in your life.
Through a gentle approach, our working relationship will become one where you’ll feel safe to explore your thoughts and feelings, and over time build a stronger sense of self-awareness.
I can offer both face-to-face and online sessions as required.

I know that taking the first step in seeking help can feel frightening and perhaps a little daunting, but my hope is that our counselling sessions will provide a safe and calm space for you to talk freely and without fear or judgment.
I look forward to hearing from you and please don’t hesitate to get in contact with any questions about me or the therapy I can offer.
Nikki.

Hello and welcome!
I’m Kalina, and I’m glad you’re here. Whatever brought you to this page, whether it’s something you can name or just a feeling you can’t quite shake, there is space for it.

Life can be challenging, messy, confusing, and at times even unbearable. Counselling offers a space to slow down, feel safe, and explore whatever feels difficult to carry alone. In the counselling room, all of your experiences are welcome: the good, the bad, and the parts that may be hard to name. You do not have to face these moments alone.

What’s it like working with me?
Counselling with me doesn’t look like one thing. Sometimes we sit down and talk. Sometimes we sit on the floor. Sometimes we use creative tools- visuals, drawing or objects, because not everything has words yet, and that’s okay. Sometimes we’re quiet for a while. The session moves at your pace, in the way that actually works for you.
My work is integrative and person-centred, grounded in the belief that we are not broken or in need of fixing. I truly believe that, no matter how lost we might feel in the current moment, we are still the experts of ourselves. In other words, we are the ones who know what is best for us. Sometimes, we might just need a little help along the way. That is why my role is not to give advice, but to support you in exploring what feels right for you.
Working integratively allows me to use and combine a range of therapeutic approaches, depending on what feels most helpful for you. Sessions are collaborative and paced to suit you. I aim to offer a flexible, attuned, and inclusive space that respects different ways of thinking, feeling, communicating, and experiencing the world.

What you can expect:
A space where you don’t have to perform or get it right. Where being messy is allowed. Where you can say the thing you’ve never said out loud. Where we figure out, together, what healing actually looks like for you, not what it’s supposed to look like.

My hope is that you leave each session feeling truly heard, supported, and more connected to yourself.

If you are considering counselling and would like to explore whether working together feels right, I offer a free initial phone call. This gives us the opportunity to connect, ask any questions, and for you to see if we feel like a good fit before taking the next step. If phone calls aren’t for you we can also connect via message or email.

About me

Hello, I’m Lauren, a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor and registered member of the BACP. I offer a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you can talk freely and be truly heard.

My passion lies in supporting people who are experiencing grief and loss. For several years, I have volunteered with Macmillan Caring Locally, a palliative care unit, where I’ve had the privilege of working alongside individuals and families navigating some of life’s most difficult moments.

Having personal experience of stillbirth and miscarriage, I bring understanding and empathy to those facing similar losses. I know how deeply these experiences can affect every part of life, and I aim to provide gentle support as you make sense of your feelings and find your own way forward.

Whether you are seeking change, struggling to cope, or simply need someone to talk to, I will meet you where you are. Together, we can work towards finding light and hope, even in the darkest of times.

I understand the importance of accessible therapy, and I offer sessions face-to-face, online, by phone, through home visits, and walk-and-talk therapy, so you can choose what feels most comfortable for you.

How I Work

As a Person-Centred Counsellor, my approach is grounded in the belief that you are the expert on your own life. My role is not to give advice or tell you what to do, but to offer a safe, supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings freely.

I work with empathy, honesty, and respect, creating an environment where you can feel truly heard and accepted without judgement. Through this process, you can begin to make sense of your experiences, reconnect with your strengths, and find your own way forward.

Person-centred counselling focuses on building a genuine, trusting relationship. I will meet you where you are, at your pace, and support you as you uncover greater self-understanding and clarity. Many clients find that, over time, this helps them feel more empowered, peaceful, and confident in themselves.

Every person’s journey is unique — and together, we can work towards the changes and healing that feel right for you.

If you’d like to find out more or arrange a first session, please feel free to get in touch — I’d be honoured to walk alongside you on your journey .

Providing a safe and healing space, I help people unravel patterns of behaviour and styles of attachment in their relationship to others and themselves. I am person-centred and utilise many different modalities – including Humanistic, TA, IFS (parts work) as well as some elements of CBT and ERP if appropriate. I work very intuitively and often focus on somatic work, exploring how, why and where the body holds and processes trauma and use psychoeducation to help clients understand themselves. I am a trained meditation teacher and utilise this when appropriate, alongside co and self-regulation techniques. I believe that creating a trusting relationship together is of primary importance, allowing you to share as much as you feel safe to – for some people this can be the first time they have felt able to be truly real – especially for people who have experienced trauma and developed patterns of once necessary but now unhelpful protection behaviours or thoughts. I welcome everyone and invite you to try counselling as a means to find calmness, clarity and empowerment.
